HOW DO YOU AFFORD WELLNESS ?

From a client of Iseri Wellness:

I have osteoarthritis in both knees, including bony spurs and fluid in the meniscus in my left knee. The only solution I was given by the surgeon I was sent to by my doctor was total knee replacement. I opted for accupuncture treeatment by my daughter, Shereen Saiki, and later by her colleague from mainland China, Fang Cai, both of whom are licensed accupuncturists. They have helped me avoid surgery. However, with hardly any cartilage in both knees, I cannot walk long distances without pain in both of them. A wheelchair is cumbersome, takes up too much space in elevators, costs too much, and is very limited in what areas it can readily maneuver. I have found the perfect answer to this dilemma: Kent Ultra Light Magnesium Alloy Folding Bicycle from China. It has 16″ wheels and weighs a mere 23 pounds. Folded dimensions are 27″x24″x15″. No polishing is necessary because the alloy never rusts.

I keep it folded in a small space in one corner of my apartment. I then exit on the ground floor, unfold my bike and ride to the supermarket. There I fold my bike, put it in the store shopping cart and use the cart to brace myself as I walk around and shop. Once a week I use my Son’s car to drive my wife and me from Kukui Plaza, our condo, to Castle Professional Center. Once there, I drop my wife off at the entrance ot the building and find free curbside parking, take my folding bike out of the car trunk, unfold it, and ride back to Iseri Wellness, my daughter’s clinic in the center. Of course, I fold my bike, take the elevator to her floor, unfold it and wheel it to her clinic, fold it completely and put it next to one of the chairs in the waiting area.
Because I have a note signed by my physician, Dr. Eugene Lee, I can ride my bike to any area in downtown Honolulu, including the Fort Street and Union malls, and Chinatown. Other places I use my bike are Ala Moana Hotel, the Federal Building,, funeral parlors, open markets, and doctors’ and dentists’ offices. There is absolutely no pain or pressure on my knees when I peddle my bike around. And, in fact, because my thigh muscles get stronger every time I pedal my bike around, I feel less pain in my knees whenever I have to walk. Some mornings when I feel well-rested, for one to several hours, I may feel no pain at all and can walk normally.

If you have my medical condition, avoid surgery by using a good folding bike and have a TCM specialist help you mainain your health. Howard T. Saiki, retired Japanese Language Teacher
